Bale Mountain Tours – 5 Days
Day 1: Addis Abeba
Up on your Arrival at Addis Ababa, you will be welcomed by your Tour Guide from Get Omo Valley Tours. Then transfer to your hotel. You’ll start your Ethiopian adventure with a tour of the nation’s capital. Your Addis Ababa tour will include a visit to the National Museum as well as the historic Trinity Cathedral to soak in the nation’s fascinating Christian history. Another highlight of the day is the chance to take in the city from atop Mount Entoto and other activities.
Day 2: Addis Abeba – Bale Mountains National Park
Full day drive from Addis to Bale Mountains, one of fascinating natural sites in Ethiopia. In the afternoon, you will have time to make a short hike along the woodland to spot endemic Mountain Nyala, Menelik Bushbuck, Bohor Reedbuck and bird species. Finally transfer to Goba or Robe Town for overnight.
Day 3: Sanneti Plateau & Harenna Forest
Morning after breakfast, you will drive to the Sanetti plateau. The Sanetti plateau is the best place to see Ethiopian Wolf. The plateau is also home to many rodents, the largest being the giant molerat. You will climb or drive to Tulu Dimtu or “the Red Mountain”. At 4,377m, this is the highest mountain in the park. Then drive down to Harenna Forest. Walk in the forest and visit waterfall and some birds and animals. Finally transfer back to Goba Town.
Day 4: Bale Mountains – Lake Langano
Drive to Langano. On the way visit Wondogenet. Known as the Ethiopian paradise, Wondogenet is a place that anyone passionate with nature should visit. After Wondogenet drive to Lake Langano and transfer to Resort located around the lake and relax at the lake shores.
Day 5: Langano – Addis Abeba & Departure
Today you will visit Abijatta-Shalla National Park. The park contains lakes of Abijatta and Shalla which are separated by 3 kms of hilly land. You will enjoy the view at a lookout point over the two lakes. Hot Springs, Ostriches, birds, Gazelles and other mammals are the main attractions in the park. Drive back to Addis Ababa and in the evening you will be invited a final farewell dinner at Ethiopian Cultural Restaurant.
